Our scholarship foundation has awarded more than $100,000 in scholarships to more than 70 students around the nation since its inception in 2001.

Mission Statement
The Elder Theodore L. Barber Scholarship Foundation, Inc. was inspired by the determination and energy of the late Elder Theodore L. Barber. Elder Barber was a man with a mission to bring people to Christ. He conducted many street services preaching the word of God, and ministering to the homeless, downtrodden, poverty-stricken, and those who sought a second chance of life. In addition, Elder Barber was a community activist as well as church advocate promoting service for all people. He served as Chairman of the Board of Trustees, President of the Refuge Housing Project, Assistant Superintendent of Sunday School, Chairman of the Minister’s Board, President of the Heating Fund Auxiliary, President of the New Membership Auxiliary, President of the Prayer and Sick Committee, sponsor of many bus trips for auxiliaries, and much more.
This scholarship will be awarded based on the following criteria:
•Grade point average of 2.50 and above
•Proof of full time enrollment in an accredited post-secondary
academic institution
•Proof of membership in church and/or community activities
•Ranking of responses on two essay questions
